Late. Vilas Tambe Sir was the guiding spirit behind the inception of the Shri Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. He was the mastermind behind its strategic planning and meticulous execution. His commitment to uplifting the people of rural Maharashtra through education was profoundly reflected in his early career choice as a primary school teacher. Even during his challenging days, he demonstrated an exceptional capacity for organization and an ability to inspire devotion in others. Generously, he dedicated a significant portion of his personal property to furthering the cause of education.
Mr. Vishal Vilasrao Tambe, a dedicated social worker and politician, has made significant contributions to education and community development. With a background rooted in social service, inspired by his family’s legacy, he has been actively involved in various roles.
Starting his journey as a Corporator in 2007, he represented Ward No. 135 Chaitanya Nagar – Dhankawadi, later extending his impact to Ward No. 74 Chaitanya Nagar – Bharti Vidyapeeth. His leadership led to multiple achievements, including his chairmanship in the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee in 2012-2013. Mr. Tambe’s commitment to education is evident through his role as President of Shri Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal since 2011. The organization has grown under his guidance, now encompassing 23 institutions providing education from KG to Ph.D. levels.
His social initiatives include the Dnyanvilas Best Teacher Award, acknowledging educators’ dedication in rural Pune, and efforts to support the elderly, divyang individuals, and those in need. Additionally, he authored a book highlighting the heroic efforts of frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges they faced, showcasing their resilience and innovative strategies.
Mr. Tambe’s work reflects his deep-rooted commitment to serving the community and addressing social challenges through education and active political involvement.
